Bead Soup Reveal

It's time!!!
Time to show you what I created with my fabulous Bead Soup from Mary Jane.

Such a gorgeous mix of treasures!!
And a lot!!!

I was able to make three pieces with this soup and I still have a few pieces left.

First I will start with the earrings...
I had never seen the flat coin pearls before...
drilled like a rondelle or wheel!
 So cool!  LOVE them!
(I even ordered a strand of white ones after this discovery!!!)
So back to the earrings...
I used the pearls Mary Jane sent as well as some pearls from my stash.
Then finished them off with some Thai silver and handmade sterling spacers from my stash
Next...
on to the necklace.
The box Mary Jane sent me was tied up all pretty with this gorgeous ribbon.

So with that and the thin cord she sent and that sweet button...
I made the base for a very simple but beautifully rich necklace.
I added a lampwork bead from my stash (made by Blue Lagoon Beads)
and some tiny garnet rondelles
finished it off by tying on a little piece of the second ribbon that was included.
I am really happy the way this turned out...
it is very different from what I usually make...
but that is what is so great about Bead Soup.
Helps us to color outside the lines!!

And finally onto the bracelet!
My favorite piece!!!
Usually (and maybe it is even the rule) participants use their clasp and the focal in a necklace...
But I'm a bracelet kinda girl!
I LOVE bracelets and will always prefer one to a necklace!
So it makes sense that I would spotlight this gorgeous focal piece...
in a bracelet that I will wear with such excitement!!

I added a lampwork bead (made by Lluvia Brito) and a teardrop bead from my stash...
the rest was from Mary Jane.

Love everything about this!!
Rustic and earthy but lightened up just a bit with the aqua...
which, of course, is my favorite color to wear!!

What fun this was!!

Now you have a TON of other masterpieces to look at...
you better run!!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed my Bead Soup!

The Bead Soup I sent

Remember this little sneak peak?

Now I can reveal what I actually sent...
since my partner Mary Jane Dodd has received her soup and posted about it on her blog.

I started with this beautiful ceramic pendant by Lisa Peters.
I added a couple of strands of autumn jasper pebbles because
they seemed to be the perfect compliment.  As I was looking at the colors of
the autumn jasper my thoughts went to my gorgeous stash of felt beads...
I knew I had some perfect complimenting colors.
These come from a couple of different etsy artisans.
The pebbles being from Smika!!
And to finish it off I threw in an assortment of Vintaj brass components.

I look forward to Mary Jane's reveal - of course it will be beautiful!!

That's right my bead soup!!!  And oh my oh my I LOVE LOVE LOVE the treasures that I received!!  Check out all the beautiful goodness!!  Mary Jane Dodd is so extremely talented - look at that beautiful pendant with all it's cold connection goodness!!!  (Makes me want to play with cold connection A LOT!!!!)  The cab she says is "vintage glass and acts like a mirror" and it a perfect little mirror!  Just gorgeous!  And the rich color of the fibers and silks - fantastic!  The coin pearls with the drilling like that - totally new to me!!!  Love the beautiful handmade clasp!  I love it all!!  Thank you Mary Jane for your thoughtfully beautiful soup!!

Just a little...

...sneak peak of the bead soup that I sent the very talented Mary Jane Dodd.

Yeah I know - pathetic - you can't even sort of see what it might be!  :)   You might be able to pick out some of the color palette - but just barely!  Fun!  She should have her goodies soon so maybe she'll show us!  Or maybe I will show!

Mary Jane posted a sneak peak on her blog as well!!  Can't wait to get whatever it is that she sent me!  Remember to come back here on March 3rd to see what we create with our fabulous Bead Soups!

A big thank you to Lori Anderson for all the hard work that she puts into each one of these Bead Soups!

The Big Reveal....

...for Bead Soup that is!!!

So as I mentioned here and here my partner was Nadya Parfyonova of Nally's Creations.
She sent me this fun collection:

I had such fun creating this piece from all the beautiful treasures that she sent.  I have to admit the clasps and focal were not things I would normally gravitate towards - in fact that is Lori's goal - to get us to work outside the box - to stretch our creative selves!!!  And I want to make it VERY clear I don't dislike these pieces in anyway shape or form - there is nothing AT ALL wrong with them, they are beautiful, very beautiful....just not my normal pickings.
It worked though, it definitely helped me to think outside the box, to try a more whimsical approach to match that adorable little froggie.  Very fun!  Love the colors, so rich and beautiful.  I selected the silk and cord so I could get the fun movement I was looking for.  Love the look and the effect.  What do you think?

So now that you've viewed my piece please make sure you go and check out what Nadya made using this selection of beads and goodies that I sent her:

And of course all the other beautiful creations that have been created for this AWESOME Bead Soup!!!  A total of 362 wonderful artisans participated - you don't want to miss a single one!!!
These are the partner pairs.
